I, for one, love going to Carroll Park. The previous review is right--it's not for those who are expecting Pebble Beach. It's a community golf course. And, while it is in an industrial area of town, it's nowhere near as dangerous or as disorganized as he would have you believe. There's a lot of different people who come out to Carroll Park, with one thing in common: they just want to play.
Soapbox moment--if you're afraid of city things, like pitbulls, having to make sure you're aware of yourself at all times, and running into people who don't look or sound like you--stay in the damn suburbs.
For a city golf course, a place that is inexpensive, friendly, and quick to get to, this place is OK in my book.
Short, no frills, urban golf course. Great value if you work in the city and just want to get a quick round in. But, in terms of the quality of the course, the City and County Muni's have much better alternatives. Try: Rocky Point, Pine Ridge, Mt. Pleasant, Greystone, the Woodlands, or Diamond Ridge.
